If your day-to-day includes pulling together DWGs from multiple sources, editing or repurposing existing geometry, and producing polished, accurate deliverables, BricsCAD® V25.2 has updates designed with you in mind.
This release focuses on making those workflows faster, more accurate, and far less tedious. From smarter block handling to better print controls, here’s what’s new in V25.2 and how it can help you work better.
1. Flip Smarter with COPYGUIDED
COPYGUIDED already made it easy to copy entities along with relevant geometry. But flipping those entities? That wasn’t always the most intuitive, especially if you wanted to flip along the same axis. Now it's easy. Just hit the Shift key or click the Flip icon.
2. Superpowered BLOCKIFY
Those line-based symbols in your drawing should be blocks. Now, thanks to the upgraded BLOCKIFY, converting them is faster and smarter:
- Create new blocks from selected geometry.
- Auto-detect existing blocks using your standard folders.
- Support for parametric blocks is now baked in. No need for a separate command.
BLOCKIFY has you covered when you’re working with repeated symbols or parametric parts (like speaker blocks that need rotation).
3. Confidently Insert Blocks
No more guessing what a block looks like before you place it. A new preview window shows you exactly what you're inserting—2D or 3D.
And if that block was made in a different unit or scale? BricsCAD automatically adjusts it and tells you the scale factor. No need to dig out your calculator.
4. Alignment Grip Support for Dynamic Blocks
BricsCAD now supports the alignment grip for dynamic blocks, making it easier to snap your block to lines, curves, or polylines.
5. Cleaner, Smarter Quick Select
QSELECT in the Properties panel has been redesigned to be more intuitive:
- No more checkboxes. Just clear, dropdown-based selections.
- See your current selection set right in the UI.
- Easily refine by layer, entity type, or property filters.
And SELECTIONCYCLING helps you pick the right entity when geometry overlaps.
6. Polyline Edits with Hotkeys
Use Ctrl to toggle between:
- Stretching a vertex
- Adding a new vertex
- Adding a bulge
The Hotkey Assistant shows your options right on screen, so you don’t have to memorize anything.
7. Publishing and Plotting: Faster, Clearer, Cleaner
Publishing DWGs—either to paper or PDF—has gotten a meaningful upgrade:
- Open drawings directly from the Sheet Set Manager.
- Control naming conventions for your outputs (sheet name, layout name, or drawing name).
- Monitor jobs in real time with the Publish Monitor.
- Center your drawings easily with better print margin feedback.
Bonus: you can save your settings (margins, offsets, plot styles) to a PMP file and reuse them anytime. Because consistency matters.
Work Faster and Publish Smarter
V25.2 brings meaningful improvements that streamline everyday detailing and publishing tasks. Now, you can spend less time troubleshooting blocks, wrangling selections, or wrestling with print settings, and more time focusing on your actual designs. These updates are all about making your work smoother, faster, and more reliable, whether you're assembling deliverables from scratch or refining existing drawings.
