Our improvements to BricsCAD Mechanical V25.2 for 2D manufacturing workflows deliver a competitive alternative to AutoCAD® Mechanical, improving workflow efficiency and design reliability, flexibility, and accuracy. Let's look at the new features and enhancements BricsCAD Mechanical V25.2 users can look forward to!
Better 2D Finite Element Analysis
In BricsCAD Mechanical V25.2 we have fully integrated the CAEANALYZE2D command, so users can now access it easily using the new ribbon icon.
Here, you can set material properties like thickness and elasticity to ensure accurate simulation and reliable design decisions.
Modeling is made more flexible thanks to rolling supports, which allow for realistic simulations of structural responses.
You can now place fixed supports and control loads across multiple segments.
Identify stress concentrations and optimize design precision by creating and refining a mesh.
Understand stress distributions and deformation patterns by performing an analysis to aid structural assessment.
Examine and probe results for detailed insights, facilitating targeted improvements.
Save results in model space for easy access, supporting informed design decisions and refinement.
Customizable values for taper and slope symbols
The AMTAPERSYM feature is a new feature in BricsCAD Mechanical. It allows you to create taper and slope symbols with customizable values.
This feature provides flexibility and ensures an accurate representation of mechanical components, enhancing the clarity and precision of your design documentation.
Create more complex welding symbol combinations
The symbol is a powerful tool frequently used in mechanical drafting, and in V25.2, the AMWELDSYM command includes 12 new parameters to help you create more complex welding symbol combinations than in previous versions of BricsCAD Mechanical.
These 12 parameters are distributed across four standards, ensuring compatibility and versatility in various drafting scenarios.
Easily adjust a dimension's scale factor
If you're working with a .dwg from AutoCAD® Mechanical with hatches, you might notice that dimensions can appear too small - in this case, you can use AMRESCALE to adjust the scale factor.
When you select objects, if hatches are recognized, AMRESCALE offers the option to maintain a minimum number of lines. This is crucial when scaling up, as it controls the spacing between lines.
When you change the scale, it adapts the hatches and increases the text height, making the design more readable.
Automatically assign lettering to datum identifiers
With the advanced AMDATUMID command, you get a powerful tool that now automatically assigns lettering to datum identifiers. The system continues the alphabetical sequence from your existing drawings. For example, if the last datum was labeled A, the next one will be labeled B - eliminating the need for manual updates. The AMDATUMID command also respects the industry standards by excluding specific letters, ensuring your work remains compliant.
Improved usability and symbol insertion with AMCFRAME
We enhanced the Feature Control Frame (AMFCFRAME) command to include a new dialog box for improved usability. Its redesigned interface makes it easier than ever to insert symbols, which is crucial for adding notes or specifying tolerance fields.
With the Insert Symbol feature, you can quickly add all the symbols you need directly from the dialog box. Building on previous frames and adjusting a few parameters can significantly reduce your design time. So now, the AMCFRAME command also remembers your previously created frames so you can reuse them across your project quickly and easily, saving time and effort.
