Australian Radio Towers (ART) is an engineering, fabrication, and construction company servicing Australian development projects. The company designs, manufactures, and installs free-standing towers, guy lattice met masts, and portable solar power stations.

To ensure delivery of market-leading engineering solutions to the renewable energy sector, ART’s Leon Worsley, a senior drafter, explains why the company selected BricsCAD as its preferred CAD platform.

“We predominately used SolidWorks for product design and project documentation. In 2019, I introduced AutoCAD® Advance Steel and Inventor from the AutoDesk® family. Although SolidWorks is a ‘solid’ CAD software, integration between AutoCAD and SolidWorks has its pain points.

After struggling with the integration between AutoCAD and Solidworks, ART switched to BricsCAD to benefit from one platform for its various design needs.

The benefits of BricsCAD
“BricsCAD solved our issues as the platform provides a seamless integration between 2D detailing, 3D modeling, mechanical design, and BIM that no other CAD software provider offers.

“Now we primarily use BricsCAD in our design and engineering department for product design, fabrication drawings, and project construction documentation. We are also trialing Bricsys 24/7 for project and construction management.”

The key drivers behind the switch to BricsCAD were value for money, .dwg technology integration, and ease of using a single family of products.

“We chose BricsCAD over alternative products based on BricsCAD’s software’s capabilities, the value it provides, and the benefits of using a single CAD software application. Our decision to switch to BricsCAD was not primarily motivated by financial cost. However, the price of BricsCAD and perpetual licensing were significant factors.

“The thing I like most is the seamless integration provided by one file type (.dwg) between 2D drafting, 3D modeling, Mechanical components, and BIM.”

Making the switch from AutoCAD to BricsCAD
It only took a few days for Leon and the team to become comfortable with BricsCAD and the Bricsys Help Center provided support as it was needed.

“The Bricsys Help Center provides fantastic resources that solve 98% of queries that come up. The ongoing support offered by Bricsys is second to none. After a few months of using BricsCAD every day, I am delighted with the results.”

“The opportunity costs that BricsCAD provide are the best in the industry, hands down.”
