What does the BricsCAD free trial offer?

The BricsCAD free trial gives you full access to BricsCAD Ultimate for 30 days. That means that all the features of BricsCAD Shape, Lite, Pro, BIM, and Mechanical are yours to use, free of charge.

After thirty days, the trial expires and will continue to run as BricsCAD Shape, our free solid modeling product. Shape will run as as long as your PC and operating system support it.

My BricsCAD free trial has expired. What do I need to do to buy BricsCAD?

Accepted Answer

Purchase a license (through the online store, or by [contacting a local reseller](https://www.bricsys.com/contact "Contact us")), re-launch the trial product and enter your key in the License Manager. This will activate your trial as a commercial product with the correct license level. There’s no need to uninstall and reinstall, ever.

Payments on the Bricsys online store are managed by Paddle. What does that mean?

BricsCAD Maintenance is the least expensive way to keep your BricsCAD perpetual licenses up to date and get access to product support. Being on Maintenance ensures that you always have the latest features and functionality. What happens if I don’t renew my Maintenance contract?

If for any reason you don’t renew your Maintenance contract at the end of the period, your current BricsCAD version will continue to run for as long as your PC and/or operating system supports it. You will no longer have access to our team of product support experts and you will need to rely on our Bricsys Help Center. If you want to get back on Maintenance or upgrade your licenses to the latest version with Maintenance, just log in to your Bricsys account and check out your upgrade options.

I have an older version of BricsCAD. How can I upgrade my license?

Go to bricsys.com, log in to your Bricsys account, and navigate to “Your licenses”. There, you’ll see what you own today and your upgrade options.

What is a BricsCAD Network License?

Accepted Answer

A network license allows many users on the same TCP/IP network to access a shared pool of BricsCAD licenses. BricsCAD uses the Reprise NLM (Network License Manager), which you install on a central server on your premises. The network license manager controls the distribution of the license pool.

Network licensing is available at an additional cost per license. Also, we require that all your networked seats are kept on BricsCAD Maintenance. Your Bricsys Reseller or Business Development Manager can give you more information on network license pricing.

What is a BricsCAD Volume License?

Accepted Answer

A volume license is a single license key that is authorized to be used across a number of independent computers. Volume licenses are designed to assist CAD and IT administrators deploy BricsCAD to large numbers of computers that may or may not be on the same network.

A volume license is not publicly available on the online store. If you’re interested in volume licensing, please contact Bricsys or a local BricsCAD reseller.

Can I use my BricsCAD license all around the world?

Accepted Answer

Licenses purchased in Latin America, South Korea, Bangladesh, Pakistan India, ASEAN countries (except Singapore), Central Asian countries, China, Japan and European countries that are not part of the European Union can only be used in the country of purchase. Contact Bricsys if you need more information or if you want to purchase licenses in these countries for global usage.

Do license keys differ based on language, location or operating system?

No, license keys work for BricsCAD in all language versions and for any supported operating system (Windows, macOS or Linux).

What do you mean by “perpetual” licenses?

Accepted Answer

A BricsCAD license provides lifetime access to the BricsCAD software without monthly or yearly fees. The product activation key authorizes its owner to use a specific version of BricsCAD for as long as their PC and/or operating system supports it.

Can I get a free academic license as a student or a teacher?

What are the minimum system and hardware requirements for BricsCAD?

The minimum system requirements for BricsCAD are:

- __Processor__: Intel or AMD processor with a clock speed of at least 1 GHz.

- __RAM__: At least 8 GB of memory, 16 GB or more, is recommended for larger or more complex drawings.

- __Hard Drive__: At least 3 GB of free hard drive space.

- __Display__: Monitor with a minimum resolution of Full HD (1920x1080).

- __Graphics Card__: Video card with DirectX 9 or higher compatibility.

- __Internet connection__: A stable Internet connection and some additional features are required for activation.

It's important to note that these are the minimum requirements and may vary depending on the complexity of your drawings and the other applications you have running on your system. To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to have a more robust design with a fast processor, more memory, and a dedicated graphics card.

Can I return my license after purchase?

If you purchased your license through the Bricsys e-store, you may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of the purchase date.
For licenses purchased through an authorized Bricsys Reseller, please contact your reseller directly regarding any refund requests.
Please note that manually activated licenses and Network licenses are non-refundable.

Does a BricsCAD Single License support home use?

BricsCAD Single Licenses are intended for use by one user on a single operating system and one computer only.
If you need to run BricsCAD on multiple devices, you have two options: Purchase additional Single Licenses for each machine, or opt for a Network License, which allows multiple users to access BricsCAD across different systems.
Please note that Network licenses require the setup and management of a local License Server, which should be administered by a qualified Network or System Administrator.
