Gent, Belgium and Szczecin, Poland, May 4, 2011. Bricsys and Fluid Desk both announce the release of the beta version of FDBES Ventpack, based on Bricscad. Ventpack is a high-end engineering software for designing HVAC installations. So far Ventpack was only available for AutoCAD®. Following eager anticipation, the Ventpack beta for Bricscad has received a "Most interesting product" award at the VENTILATION FORUM 2011 – the largest Polish HVAC expo taking place March 29-30 in Warsaw.

Ventpack automates the process of drawing Ventilation and Air Conditioning installations. While drawing ducts and fittings, the software automatically calculates air velocity and informs the user about reached design limits. Pressure loss calculations and generating the list of elements are standard features. Ventpack combines the simplicity of 2D drawing with the advantages of 3D modeling, allowing cross sections of the installation to be made from any direction. Manufacturers can update their CAD libraries directly in the software as a service to their clients. Ventpack is particularly strong in annotating drawing files: numbering elements, dimensioning and preparing of material specifications are fully automated and updated with every modification of the drawing at any stage of the project. Once the design is completed, detailed technical reports about pressure and linear resistance are generated automatically.
Ventpack is based on BRX, one of the API’s of Bricscad V11. With the availability of Ventpack for Bricscad V11, Fluid Desk will be able to deliver state of the art technology for a very competitive price. Following conclusion of the current public beta program, commercial release is expected to take place in Q2-3 of 2011, guaranteeing absolute equal quality compared to Ventpack for AutoCAD.
